glock killer cz

Glock Killer Cz - For years, companies have worked to challenge the Glock's position in the market, building strong on the success of the Glock 19. It goes so far as to supposedly "fit most Glock 19 cases". In some ways, CZ produced a G19 that some might call more attractive, but is that all?

CZ is a company known for making high-quality handguns for both defense and competition. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was a little surprised when they announced this stylistic and functional departure from pretty much everything they've ever done. From its looks, it looks like a worthy competitor to Glock's Model 19, but the proof is in the shoot. I recently spent some quality time shooting the P-10 C, and here are my first impressions.

The P-10 C is a direct challenge to the Glock 19. Like the G19, the P-10 C is a compact, large pistol made for everyday carry and service.

Glock Killer ?

This new CZ pistol can be considered for several reasons. Chief among these is whether you want value for money in a quality gun that requires little or no modification. If your primary concern is the quality of the trigger action, you might also consider the P-10 C. If you like the features of the Glock 19 but prefer a better grip contour and a more attractive design, you may also consider it.

Now, since CZ deliberately created the P-10 C as a direct competitor to the Glock 19, I'll make some direct comparisons along these lines throughout this review. These comparisons can't help but be colored by the fact that I fire 40,000 to 45,000 rounds with a Glock 19 each year. I can say that I am quite used to this platform. Let's see if this P-10 C is really a

The first thing I noticed when I brought the CZ P-10 C to target is that the grip angle is similar to the G19 but slightly less sharp. This means that if you're used to shooting with a Glock pistol, you'll need to raise the P-10 C's front sight slightly when you hit the target. This is to be expected, as very few pistols have a Glock-like grip angle. However, the P-10 C's grip angle is not as vertical as most Sig or 1911 pistols.

Once I learned the proper grip angle for pressure, I found the P-10 C easy to fire accurately. The 3-dot sight is easy to grip and the bullet goes where it needs to go. Of course, some of that effortless accuracy comes from this pistol's very famous trigger.

Short reset for attacker fired weapon. It breaks at about 4.5 lbs. This trigger is superior to anything you can find in a Glock with polished and/or aftermarket components. When using a friend's model on the practice range, I found Bill drills and other quick shots to be easy with the P-10 C. CZ deserves credit for this trigger.

I like that a magazine that fits snugly over the pistol with the locked open slide sends the slide home. It seems that this is an intentional feature of the action. fine with them This is possible with some Glocks, but predictably not repeatable.

The only downside I noticed right away is that the P-10 C has a slightly stronger recoil impulse than I find on a Glock 19. It's not great, but it stands out. I attribute this to the fact that 1) the grip is slightly narrower than on the G19, so the recoil is directed to a smaller area, and 2) the bore axis is slightly higher on the P-10 despite being low. This P-10 C has a much more elegant hand than the one found on the G19. The grip contours are a bit understated compared to other CZs, but still pretty nice. I almost got the impression that it was

Another notable aspect of the P-10 C's grip is that the recessed rear of the trigger guard is comfortable and helps facilitate a slightly higher grip. This is a failing feature on the Glock 19, which has a more awkward setup in this location (and needs to be replaced after purchase!). My average hands had good access to the trigger, and I found the grip size to be just right with the small backband.

As I mentioned earlier, I found it slightly less controllable than the Glock 19 due to a slightly steeper recoil impulse and the inability to rest the thumb of the supporting hand forward of the frame. CZ says this thumb position on the frame is textured, yet flat, and offers little control for acquisition. However, the difference in controllability is small and not a compelling issue.

While the P-10 C is about half an inch taller than the Glock 19, it has the same 15+1 capacity. It's not terrible, but you'd expect that to mean an extra round or two. A little disappointing.

The P-10 C's frame is made of fiber-reinforced polymer and offers an aggressive texture similar to one that's even more distinctive than the Glock Gen 4. Some of the people I spoke with and bought the new CZ say it's a bit polished I can't imagine why that's the case as the texture is not yet rough enough to be called "sticky". It has a good texture but I would have preferred it to be sharper. I say though that this framework requires punctuation.

The 3-dot glow-in-the-dark sights are made of aluminum. It's not optimal, but it definitely beats plastic sights. I'm hoping a serious devotee will want to replace them with irons, perhaps tritium points.

As reported elsewhere, the magazine release (available on both sides!) is pretty tough and requires strong, direct pressure to release. The control is pretty small and I'm not a fan. I prefer the larger, flatter grip found on the Glock 19. I've been told that the release will loosen over time, and I have no reason to doubt that statement.

The frame and slider are attractively contoured, but without unnecessary frills. I applaud CZ's choice to make the pistol fully ambidextrous rather than laterally changing it. The muzzle, especially the muzzle, is quite solid. I'm not sure why they think this is necessary but I think it's a nice feature.

The P-10 C is an accurate, simple, attractive and comfortable pistol with a great trigger. The grip contour is much more comfortable than on a G19, and the sights are metal rather than plastic. Getting all this for about $100 less than you'd pay for a Glock 19 makes this a tough gun to ignore.

Velocity For Glock

The P-10 C is slightly larger and heavier than the Glock 19, and replacement magazines are more expensive than the Glock. While it will fit some G19 holsters, it does not fit G-Code Incog holsters (they are by far the best holsters for concealed carry). The magazine release control is somewhat finicky and small. The feel of recoil is slightly higher on the P-10 C than on the Glock 19, and the bezel isn't conducive to physical button management.

The P-10 C fits like a glove and I can't see anything wrong with the ergonomics of its design (minus a thumb rest).

There is little wrong with the shooting ability of this weapon. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 compared to the Glock 19, which I found quite flawless in its shooting ability.

I think the CZ P-10 C is something close to the definition of good value. Yes, there are some minor flaws, but for this price you won't find anything like this quality and features.

While I reserve my judgment on its reliability and longevity, the CZ P-10 C is a better value out of the box than the G19. There are details about everyday carry that keep me from wanting to replace my Glock 19 with the P-10 C, but it's hard to really find anything wrong with CZ's new pistol. This newcomer cannot be compared to Glock's long and storied history of excellence and reliability, but time will tell.

I'll be interested to see how the component and holster market reacts to the arrival of this pistol. This answer is going to have to be pretty strong if it's really going to be the Glock killer it was meant to be. Meanwhile, the CZ P-10 C is an excellent effort and well worth everyone's consideration.
